Chakras – How To Know If You Need To Recharge

If you're new to the spiritual world, chances are you're new to the concept of the chakras. You need to understand that everything is energy - you are energy and you are powerful. Your reality is really just perceived through your body's ability to convert frequencies and vibrations into visual and auditory and sensory information. Once you understand this, you understand that energy flow is important. Where energy cannot flow easily, it creates blockages. When you are feeling "out of whack," try to tune into yourself and trust your vibrations. You may have some self-care to attend to. First let's get you briefly introduced to the chakras.


 

What are Chakras ?

Chakras are spinning balls of energy located all around your body that drive your physical, mental and spiritual well-being. In total we have 144, but there are 7 main chakras that are very important. They start at the base of your spine and end at the top of your head. These chakras can be depleted of energy, supercharged with energy or blocked, in which case energy cannot flow easily within you.

 

When some of the energy centers are blocked, a lot of health and wellness complications can arise. In holistic health, many health problems are believed to root from these energy centers when they are not aligned as they should be. 


Root Chakra 

 

Color: Red.
Location: At the base of your spine.
Purpose: Grounding energy. Connecting you to the Earth and supporting you.


 

 

 

 

Is your Root Chakra blocked?
When this chakra is blocked or unbalanced, you can expect to feel very emotionally and financially unsafe, ungrounded and spacey. You may experience low self-esteem and depression. Physically, you may experience constipation, fatigue and lower back pain.

When this chakra is balanced you can expect to feel safe, grounded and supported through your life journey.

 


How to charge the Root Chakra
1) Repeat this affirmation: I am grounded, secure and safe. I do what I love and I am healthy, stable and strong.


2) Use the following essential oils: Lavender, Ginger, Cypress, Veviter, Patchouli and Sandalwood.


3) Carry the following crystals on you: Garnet, Red Tiger's Eye, Hematite, Tourmaline, Red Jasper and Obsidian. 

4) Eat lots of red wholesome and fresh foods to recharge your body such as: Strawberries, tomatoes, watermelon, red berries, pomegranate, apples, beets, etc...

5) Connect with nature: Go for a walk in nature, exercise outside or plant a garden to ground yourself. 

6) Do some yoga: Child's pose, Tree pose and Eagle pose are good yoga poses for the Root Chakra.
 

Sacral Chakra 

 

Color: Orange.
Location: Below the navel.
Purpose: The emotional chakra. Sexual and creative energy center.




Is your Sacral Chakra blocked?
When this chakra is blocked or unbalanced, you can expect to feel low sex drive and creative blocks.
Physically, you may experience hip pain, infertility and/or sexual dysfunctions, painful periods and ovarian cysts for women.

When this chakra is balanced, you can expect to feel abundant creativity flow through you, passionate, and a healthy sex drive. Who doesn’t enjoy that?



How to charge the Sacral Chakra
1) Repeat this affirmation: I am radiant, beautiful and strong and enjoy a healthy and passionate life. I am in touch with my feelings. I am a creative being.


2) Use the following essential oils: Lavender, Lemongrass, Orange, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang.


3) Carry the following crystals on you: Citrine, Orange Carnelian. 

 

4) Eat lots of orange wholesome and fresh foods to recharge your body such as: Oranges, pumpkins, carrots, seeds, nuts, etc...

 

5) Take a bath, spend time by the water, start a creative project, DANCE like no one is watching.

 

6) Do some yoga: Triangle pose, Pigeon pose and Seated Forward bend are good yoga poses for the Sacral Chakra.

 

Solar Plexus Chakra
 

 

Color: Yellow.

Location: Stomach area.
Purpose: Will power and confident energies.





Is your Solar Plexus Chakra blocked?
When this chakra is blocked or unbalanced, you can expect to feel low self-esteem and lack of will power, anxiety and depression.
Physically, you may experience indigestion and stomach issues, respiratory issues, as well as low blood sugar.

When this chakra is balanced, you feel confident, wise and powerful. You can tackle anything. BRING IT ON.

 


How to charge the Solar Plexus chakra
1) Repeat this affirmation: I rule from a place of authentic power and control. I am worthy and motivated. I set boundaries with ease as an act of self-care and self-respect.

 

2) Use the following essential oils: Lavender, Lemon, Rosemary, Grapefruit, Bergamot.

 

3) Carry the following crystals on you: Citrine, Carnelian, Yellow Jasper. 

 

4) Eat lots of yellow wholesome and fresh foods to recharge your body such as: Bananas, sunflowers seeds, yellow peppers,  corn, lemons, etc...

 

5) Get outside and take some sun, meditate on letting go of what does not serve you, smile more, take a risk and get out of your comfort zone!

 

6) Do some yoga: Corpse pose and Bow pose are good yoga poses for the Solar Plexus Chakra.

 


Heart Chakra

 

Color: Green. 
Location: Near your heart and chest.
Purpose: This energy center is so important. It harvests feelings of love, compassion and kindness.

 

 

 

Is your Heart Chakra blocked?
When this chakra is blocked or unbalanced, expect to feel afraid, fear intimacy in all relationships and lack empathy towards others and yourself. You may experience negative self-talk as well as judgment issues, and general lack of self-care.

Physically, people may experience heart and circulatory problems such as heart disease and high blood pressure. Respiratory issues such as asthma and allergies are common too.


When this chakra is balanced, you feel happy, compassionate, loving and kind. You open this chakra, you open your life to positivity and possibilities.

 


How to charge the Heart Chakra

1) Repeat this affirmation: I give and recieve love, forgiveness and compassion to myself and others effortlessly and unconditionally. My heart is filled with joy and gratitude.

 

2) Use the following essential oils: Lavender, Rose, Geranium, Neroli, Jasmine.

 

3) Carry the following crystals on you: Rose Quartz, Jade, Green Tourmaline, Green aventurine. 

 

4) Eat lots of green wholesome and fresh foods to recharge your body such as: Leafy green vegetables (there are so many!), kiwis, green peppers,, green beans, etc...

 

5) Surround yourself in green, in nature, and breathe deeply. Air is life. Wear green. Start a gratitude journal. Meditate. Play and have fun.

 

6) Do some yoga: Upward facing dog pose, Bow pose, and Reverse plank pose are good yoga poses for the Heart Chakra.

 

Throat Chakra

 

Color: Blue.

Location: At the throat area.

Purpose: This center drives communication and expression.

 

 

 

 

Is your Throat Chakra blocked?
When this chakra is blocked or unbalanced, expect to have difficulty expressing your authentic feelings and opinions to others. Expect to be poor at communication.
Physically, thyroid problems may occur as well as sore throat.


When this chakra is balanced, you can express yourself very freely, with ease. You are a good listener and speaker. Communication is key in all our relationships.

 


How to charge the throat chakra

1) Repeat this affirmation: My thoughts are positive, and I always express myself truthfully and clearly. My voice is heard.

 

2) Use the following essential oils: Lavender, Peppermint, Cypress, Bergamot, Chamomile.

 

3) Carry the following crystals on you: Aquamarine, Lapis Lazuli, Blue Lace Agate, Blue Apatite.

 

 4) Eat lots of blue wholesome and fresh foods to recharge your body such as: Blueberries, berries, figs, etc...

 

5) Surround yourself in green, in nature, and breathe deeply. Air is life. Wear green. Start a gratitude journal. Meditate. Play and have fun.

 

6) Do some yoga: Upward facing dog pose, Bow pose, and Reverse plank pose are good yoga poses for the Throat Chakra.

 


Third Eye Chakra 
 

 


Color: Indigo.
Location: In between your eyes on your forehead.
Purpose: This center connects you to the divine realms. It is your intuition. Your third eye chakra can help you percieve this world in a totally different way. It can open you to a spiritual journey.



Is your Third Eye Chakra blocked?
When this chakra is blocked or unbalanced, expect to have poor intuitio. You know when you ask yourself “Should I do this?” and you literally have no idea…try healing and charging this chakra.

Physically, you can experience headaches, hormonal imbalances, anxiety and depression. Not knowing where you are going can really leave you feeling lost. Open up your third eye, use it as your personal guide.


When this chakra is balanced, you can experience your senses intensely, build your intuition (a sixth sense) and feel things you usually cannot sense. Your inspiration will increase as well.

 


How to charge Third Eye Chakra

1) Repeat this affirmation: I hear my intuition. I am connected to my true path and purpose. I trust my inner teacher and follow his/her guidance.

 

2) Use the following essential oils: Frankincense, Lavender, Juniper, Clary Sage, Rosemary, Tea Tree, Jasmine, Melissa.

 

3) Carry the following crystals on you: Purple Fluorite, Lapis Lazuli, Amethyst. Quartz.

 

4) Eat lots of indigo wholesome and fresh foods to recharge your body such as: Purple Grapes, Purple Potatoes, Blackberries, Plums, Eggplant, etc...

 

5) Meditate. Meditate. Meditate

6) Do some yoga: Downward Facing Dog, Child's Pose and Supported Shoulderstand are good yoga poses for the Third Eye Chakra.

 

Crown Chakra

 


Color: Purple.

Location: At the top of your head.
Purpose: Connecting your soul energy to the universe. This is the chakra that assists you in finding your purpose in this world. It can awaken your consciousness and connect you to all life forms as souls.

 

 

Is your Crown Chakra blocked?
When this chakra is blocked or unbalanced, expect to feel a bodily disconnect from everyone and everything. Disconnected from the world. You'll feel a lack of inspiration and joy. You’ll feel a need to be alone and naturally recharge yourself from it all, just so you can come back and be connected.
Physically, you can experience poor sleeping patterns, migraine and headaches and difficulty living your life as is.

 


How to charge the Crown Chakra

1) Repeat this affirmation: I am complete and one with the divine energy. I am part of the universal flow. I am light. I am love.

 

2) Use the following essential oils: Frankincense, Lavender, Rosewood, Sandalwood, Palo Santo.

 

3) Carry the following crystals on you: Clear Quartz, Amethyst, Selenite.

 

4) Use nature as your fuel: Breathe in fresh Air. Bathe in Waters. Drink lots of pure Water. Bathe in Sunlight. 

 

5) Meditate. Meditate. Meditate. “You should sit in meditation for twenty minutes everyday - unless you're too busy; then you should sit for an hour.”― Sukhraj S. Dhillon.

 

6) Do some yoga: Downward Facing Dog, Child's Pose, and Supported Shoulderstand are good yoga poses for the Crown Chakra.

We are energy.

Everything around us is energy.

It is very easy to get out of alignment when our surroundings do not support a healthy vibration. That why it is so important for you to take time for yourself EVERY single day to tune into yourself, listen to what your body and mind are telling you, and recharge.

You can meditate daily, you can practice yoga, use essential oils, crystals and herbs, exercise, take a walk, and stay hydrated. Only you know what you need.
